Prior to joining Western Alliance Bank, Ms. Paling was deputy team leader for the entertainment finance group at Bank Hapoalim in Los Angeles, the team leader for National Bank of Canada’s Creative Industries group for Ontario and Western Canada, President of producer, Wishmaker Films, and general counsel at Blackwatch Communications, a production and distribution company based in Montreal. She began her work in the industry writing policy and guidelines and supervising tax rebate applications for CAVCO (the Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office). Ms. Paling is a member of the Ontario Bar (Canada), holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a bachelor’s degree from McGill University. DJ Clark first described himself as a multimedia journalist back in 1994 while single-handedly covering the British Winter Special Olympic team for TV, radio and print. He now has over 30 years experience working with media organisations across the world as a video producer, photojournalist, presenter, writer, trainer and multimedia consultant. Based in Hong Kong, DJ is currently Multimedia Director at China Daily Asia Pacific, host and producer of the adventure travel show Drone & Phone, video advisor to the Asia News Network and course leader for the University of Bolton MA in Visual Design. Previously DJ was a regular contributor to The Economist, BBC radio and National Geographic. DJ has won numerous awards for his work throughout his career. In 2020 his film Battleground PolyU won seven international prizes including World Press Photo Interactive of the Year and was nominated for a Webby. Both as a practitioner and researcher DJ has a deep interest in visual journalism as a tool for change in the Majority World. In 2009 he completed a PhD at the University of Durham that focused on the subject and has gone on to write and speak extensively on the issue. He has taught at the Asia Center for Journalism, been a tutor for World Press Photo & British Council workshops, was a co-founder/tutor of Multimedia Train and is co-host of the Multimedia Week and Hong Kong History podcasts . In 2017 DJ was chair of the World Press Photo Short Form Digital Story Telling jury.

In 2004 he returned to Italy, where he still lives and works. Jeffery Shaw Dr.h.c, Chair Professor, Academy of Visual Art, Hong Kong Baptist University. Jeffrey Shaw has been a leading figure in new media art since its emergence from the performance, expanded cinema and installation paradigms of the 1960s to its present day technology-informed and virtualized forms. In a prolific career of widely exhibited and critically acclaimed work he has pioneered the creative use of digital media technologies in the fields of virtual and augmented reality, immersive visualization environments, navigable cinematic systems and interactive narrative. Prof. Shaw was the founding director of the ZKM Institute for Visual Media Karlsruhe, Germany (1991-2002), and co-founding director of the University of New South Wales Australia iCinema Centre for Interactive Cinema Research (2003-). He was Dean of the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong (2009-2016) and the Director of the Centre for Applied Computing and Interactive Media at CityU (2016-2021). Currently Prof. Shaw is the Chair Professor of Academy of Visual Art, Hong Kong Baptist University.

Tim Yip is a world-renowned art director for stage and film, costume designer and visual artist. He works widely in contemporary film, theatre, art, literature, and other creative fields. For “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” (directed by Ang Lee in 2000), Yip won the Oscar for "Best Art Direction", becoming the first Chinese to be awarded by the Academy, and the British Film and Television Academy award for "Best Costume Design", in 2001. In the field of theatre, Tim Yip has collaborated with many world-renowned practitioners and groups, including Robert Wilson, Franco Dragone, Akram Khan, Francois Girard, Zhang Yimou, Stan Lai, Yang Liping, English National Ballet, Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, The Metropolitan Opera, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Contemporary Legend Theater, Legend Lin Dance Theater, Han Tang Yue Fu, Tai-Gu Tales Dance Theatre, U Theatre and more. His works have been staged in China, Austria, France, United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, and Israel. His directed plays “Storm in Emptiness” and “Love in a Fallen City” are a merge of video and stage art named Total Art Theatre. Yip was invited to be the stage and costume designer for 2004 Athens Olympics closing ceremony and the designer for Team China’s Olympic Podium Uniform in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Yip was also the set and costume designer of Opera “Lohengrin” directed by Francois Girard. The opera had its premiere at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia in 2022 and was staged at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York in 2023. In 2023, Yip has participated in the exhibition "Eternal Offerings: Chinese Ritual Bronzes" of the Minneapolis Institute of Art as the visual director.
